About us
The business goal of Trigon Agri is to establish control of around 150,000 hectares of farm-land by 2009, which would be located primarily in the Black Earth regions of Russia and Ukraine. The Black Earth region has historically been the ‘bread-basket’ of Europe and the company firmly holds a belief that the region will regain its importance as a global leader in farm commodities production, with primary focus on cereals products.
The farming operations of Trigon Agri are driven by the philosophy of large-scale operations combined with industry leading technology and equipment solutions. The average cereals production unit of Trigon Agri combines at least 5,000-10,000 hectares of farmland in one single concentration managed under one common management. The average dairy production unit of the company consists of 700-1,000 milking cows (1,400-2,000 dairy animals including young-stock), operated in loose-housing facilities with principles and techniques mostly developed in the United States. The company works with all of the leading global farm-equipment suppliers as well as uses local equipment in Russia and Ukraine.
The company's expansion strategy is focused on creating clusters of farming operations in areas where people and infrastructure is available to facilitate the production activities. Most of the cereals products of the company are exported trough global trading companies while all of the milk produced by the company's dairy farms is sold to regional dairy processing companies in the respective countries of operation.
As of April 2007 Trigon Agri controlled close to 25,000 hectares of farmland in Ukraine, Russia and Estonia. Its operations included two fully operational dairy farms in Estonia, four large-scale cereals farms in the Kharkov oblast in Ukraine and a large dairy farming operation in Russia. Trigon Agri is currently actively working on significantly expanding its operations by obtaining control of more farm-land to expand both its cereals as well as dairy operations.
Trigon Agri shares are traded at First North in Stockholm, an alternative market place part of the OMX Nordic Exchange. SEB Enskilda is acting as the Certified Adviser for Trigon Agri.
